Irony

Imagine you're at the library with two crazy boys, ages 2 and 1.

The two year old is potty-training, but can't manage to poop on the potty. (Let's just say he pooped in his underwear this morning and had to have a shower. Yuck.)

The one-year old is running around because, let's just say for this example, that you forgot to bring your stroller to the library. You swear up and down you will never forget again, but that's what you said last time.

So, you sit down at the computer and search, "potty training" for books and DVDs. As the list comes up, your two year old walks up to you. His pants look oddly shiny, all the way down to his ankles . . .
Wait. They're wet. Soaking wet.

Yep, he peed his pants while you were looking for potty training aids, in the library.

Ironic.

Alanis was singing in the background of my mind while I read this. Life can be so hilariously frustrating, eh!

How funny! Someone just sent me potty training instructions the other day, she said that everyone who has used them swears that if you follow it exactly, it works. I haven't looked at it yet, but I will e-mail it for you, just in case it helps!! GOOD LUCK! I am so glad that my girls are potty trained, although, I hope that we get to do it again someday with another baby! :)

Claire,
Yes, he is adorable, and that helps for sure.

brandonm,
Great song, but they really aren't ironies, are they?

Mandy,
He's really doing pretty well overall. This was his first accident in a week (peeing, that is). I know it's part of the process.
I hope you get to do it again sometime soon, too :)

awe... bummer, literally! How funny that we're both potty-training our boys this/last week. Maybe we should get them together and let them hang out all day.

Not sure what happened but the light bulb just WENT ON all of a sudden with Corbin.... he's pretty much doing it himself. Then again Jeff started giving him pennies, nickels, and dimes to put in his golf ball bank (and when you put coins in it applauds and cheers like you've made a hole in one). That could have been the reinforcement he was looking for all along-- forget mom and dad cheering for you, or jelly beans, or sticker charts, or matchbox cars.... this is a modern kid and $$$$ talks! Literally! :)
